SIlky, but softly chalky too - the fruit is pristine, clear and pure with balanced acidity that is wide and long in the mouth. Tannins are sleek and so well integrated, just giving some touches of bitterness - chocolate, coffee and cedar - while the mineral flint and wet stone come in towards the finish. Feels confident and well sculpted. Power is there but this is presented so charmingly. A gorgeous wine, filling, bright, finessed but still really concentrated and with a long life ahead. Not plush, more sleek and streamlined, direct and focussed - but it's the purity of this that captures and the nuance of herbs, spices, fruit, acidity and salinity. Easily to mistake this for a Grand Cru Classé.«
